What Areas Does The Barter Club Cover?

The Barter Club, Inc. serves the Greater Sacramento Area, including Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Roseville, Lincoln, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Folsom, Auburn, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Colfax, Truckee and North Lake Tahoe/Tahoe City.

What is the Advantage of Being in The Barter Club?

Besides immediately bringing in new business (members love checking out new members) and saving cash on hand by using barter dollars, your business can accept barter from one member and use barter with ANY other club member.

Your business also gets marketed/promoted by The Barter Club to other club members and the general public via social media channels.

What Can I Use Barter For?

There are hundreds of products and services offered by Barter Club members to choose from, and many reasons to purchase goods and services through the club:

• Gift Certificates for employees, clients.

• Utilize member offerings for personal use (house cleaning, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, landscaping, etc.)

• Entertain clients at club member restaurants, comedy club/lounge, pizza parlors and more.

What Are The Club Fees?

We have several ways you can join, including a trial membership (speak to a Barter Club representative for details). Once a member, there is a $10/mo. membership fee which covers club office expenses and marketing efforts and 10% on any barter spent. Essentially, for every $100 in barter you spend, you’ll get an invoice the following month for $10.

What Are The Tax Implications of Using Barter?

The Barter Club, Inc. sends in a 1099b form for sole proprietor businesses (corporations are exempt) and only reports the barter portion of each sale. Members can deduct all barter purchases made for their business. Just like cash. For detailed information on how to report barter, please consult a tax professional.
